Company Overview

Vislink Investment Private Limited was registered in 2015, however before setting up the investment arm; the medical facility has been operating as Trauma Center Borrowdale. With the expansion of the services to meet the increasing needs of the community, the medical/clinical Hub emerged, therefore necessitating the registration of the investment arm of the facility.

Trauma Center has been in operation for over 20 years, first in its location in Belgravia, however, due to issues of ownership the facility moved and expanded its services in Borrowdale.

Brief History

Trauma Centre Borrowdale is led by Dr. Vivek Solanki and is based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Dr. Vivek Solanki is a Medical Practitioner with 34 years of experience in Aesthetics, Women's Wellness, Emergency Care, Airport Clinic services, Travel Vaccinations and, he is also a Senior Aviation Medical Assessor. Dr. Solanki has been building Well Women Clinics, Emergency Call Centres, and Clinics in Africa for the past 28 years in countries including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Kenya. Trauma Centre Borrowdale offers comprehensive emergency care options for everything from serious illnesses, chronic medical conditions, road traffic accidents, injuries, and other trauma. It provides care for both adult and pediatric patients with a focus on patient satisfaction. The facility features a comfortable, modern environment, state-of-the-art equipment, and Technology plus drastically reduced "waiting times'.

The hospital prides itself in offering the latest technology and up-to-date medical services, making the care comparable to any first-world country. The website noted above provides a detailed view of the services and facilities rendered, being the only facility in Zimbabwe providing medical licensing medical exams to pilots (aviation medicals) and the Jet Fuel Bar (restoring the mineral and vitamin balance) in the country.

Summary of Services

The director, who with many years of experience in Zimbabwe and the Africa Region valued the integrated approach to health care.. The HUB services work on a contractual basis and are managed independently over the overall guidance of the Managing Director, RESPONSIBLE to ensure that the mission and vision of the organization are maintained. Some of the services of the HUB are Emergency/Casualty services adult and pediatrics), Aviation and Executive Medical Exams, Aesthetic Clinic, Critical Care, Radiology, Physiotherapy, Jet Fuel Bar, Dental services, Audiology, and pharmacy. In the last two years, the facility expanded its services to include: increased inpatient critical care services, maternity, neonatal intensive care, and expansion of its surgical facilities. One major feature of care at the center is preventive services and nutrition counseling for diabetic patients. In addition to the provision of services, the center organizes/facilitates medical evacuations within the Southern Africa Region.

The pricing structure is based on the currently approved reimbursable rate of the approved schedule of fees by the Association Founders of Zimbabwe (AFHoZ) and the major Medical Aid Societies.

Our Legacy

The roots of Trauma Centre Borrowdale date back to its earlier Trauma Centre on Lanark Road under the stewardship of Auto band Investments for 18 years at that location. The hospital survived the harsh economic conditions experienced by the country and relocated to its new location due to ownership issues. In addition to the Trauma Center, Dr. Solanki contributed to the establishment of Parkview, and the Well Woman Clinic. The facility has constantly grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of those we serve, while never losing sight of our Mission, our Core Values, and the reasons for our success - our incredible teammates.

Overview of local service providers

The institution continues to support the local industry through the purchase of drugs and medical sundries (12 providers), the construction industry (2 companies), and materials related to the industry (4 companies). The spirit of buying medical supplies and sindries within Zimbabwe whenever possible and available is actively practiced, therefore creating/strengthening the local market.

Workforce

In addition to the workforce described above, staff in specialized areas are frequently updated with new skills to provide the latest treatment modalities. As part of the continuing education efforts, the institution is working on linkages with overseas health care facilities for regular updating of staff. Currently negotiating with the multi-sectoral medical teams at CaroMont Health (Gastonia North Carolina), focussing on Endocrine and surgical specialties to strengthen continuing education.

Key Processes

Trauma Center is the first and only facility in Zimbabwe that addresses vitamin imbalances in patients through the WELL researched Jet Fuel Bar process where clients receive a cocktail of vitamin preparation aimed at restoring vitamin imbalances. It has now been approved by African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) AP/M/2017/002916, Regular updates on medical topics.
